The Night Watch

The title of our programme is derived from Antony Holborne’s „Night Watch “. And offers a good reason for the ensembles Element of Prime and the Lutesong Consort to join forces for the first time. We curiously join the night watch on his rounds through the city. He hears music seeping through the church doors, raucous guests in a pub, lovers’ sorrows and pleasures, and in the early morning hours he is met by the vendors noisily putting up their wares for sale. Life’s upheavals in the nutshell of just one single night.
